This map helps you find radio stations across Metro Vancouver and the world

Want to pick your radio station by spinning a globe?
RadioGarden
Each little green dot is a community with at least one radio station.

If you've ever wondered what the daily grind sounds like in other parts of the world, the Radio Garden can help with that.

The Dutch-led project shows what radio stations are based on using a map of the world. While they don't list every station in Vancouver, they do list quite a few, including some that are web only. They also break up Vancouver by the municipality, so Burnaby has a couple, Surrey has a couple, etc.

The website doesn't just focus on metropolitan centres. There are also stations based in small BC towns, like Houston or Chetwynd, loading up the local broadcast in no time.

Then there's the more exploratory fun you can have with it, by checking out stations in far-off places. Since it uses web radio players, the audio is always clear, so you can hear stations based in Asia, Africa and Europe.

So you can check out J1 Gold, which streams classic hits from Japan and gives updates on traffic and weather around Tokyo -- in English. Or Wazaa FM 100.5 out of the island nation of Mauritius. Or BFBS Falkland Islands, which connects the Falkland Islands with music and news broadcasts.

As it is a Dutch-based project, it's heavily oriented towards European radio.

There's two ways of exploring, either click on a green dot and it'll play one of the stations from that community (and you can select another one if you want. Or you can just spin the globe and Radio Garden will pick on something from its search area.
