The Vancouver Art Gallery's Family FUSE Weekend offers a ton of terrific kid-focused programming aimed at beating summer boredom, while firing up creativity.

There might be grey skies in our forecast right now, but for the weekend of August 10-11, the Vancouver Art Gallery is giving families a reason to cheer up. Their Family FUSE Weekend offers a ton of terrific kid-focused programming aimed at beating summer boredom, while firing up creativity.

Highlights of the Saturday and Sunday program include the following:

  • Vancouver’s experimental musical trio Hubbub will respond to works by Robert Rauschenberg
  • Vancouver’s All Bodies Dance Project will lead movement inspired by the sculptures of Alberto Giacometti
  • Local artist and “b-boy” Dedos from the Canadian hip-hop group Rascalz will lead a kid-friendly hip-hop dance workshop in reference to Views of the Collection: The Street

Kids can start their journey of art-inspired discovery in the Lobby of the Art Gallery by picking up their "road map" to their adventure. While checking out the current exhibits, curious kiddos can enjoy the live performances, opportunities to get hands-on and create art of their own, and move their busy bodies.

All of the Family FUSE programming is free for members and kids 12 and under (who are accompanied by a ticketed adult). For full details, check out the Vancouver Art Gallery's website.
