As posted by Vancouver house music OG, LUKE MCKEEHAN, for those suffering from that jazz withdrawal as the Jazz Fest has concluded, these 2 mixes will def help you cope like dope. Posted for download are Mckeehan's 2 mixes from his BACK TO THE LAB night circa '96, '97 at the defunct Chameleon Urban Lounge (VIA's own GMAN was also, surprise, surprise in on this wicked 90s night). Luke posted this on Facebook as he was preparing to do a set in the back room of Shine for some raregroove goldness with another Vancouver OG, VINYL RITCHIE.

From Luke Mckeehan, Friday, April 3, 2009:

"To celebrate an upcoming gig I have playing strictly vinyl rare groove, funk, soul, disco and all that other good stuff with Vinyl Ritchie, I uncovered the masters of a couple mixtapes from back in the 90's. The night was 'Back To The Lab', the location Chameleon Urban Lounge [r.i.p.]. My partner in crime on the night, the one & only original triple-threat Garret Louie aka GMAN. These are two promo mixes I did for the night. It was a monthly on Thursdays, and too many good deejays played there to mention. These tapes from me are just a taster, the music spans the 60's to the 90's -- and there is not a gram of house.

Warning if you have a short attention span and expect a mix every 30 seconds, you will be sorely disappointed. Back To The Lab is about the tunes. Kick back & enjoy. Peace. Luke"

- I so love that last line and Ive been rockin both these mixes NON-STOP because of that!
