Gastown eatery Tuc Craft Kitchen is shutting down after seven years in business.

The restaurant announced its plans to close in an Instagram post Friday evening, writing, "in the midst of Covid-19, we are left with the sad news that we will be closing after our last service August 29th, 2020. In a perfect world, we would have let you know earlier so we could have one last celebration with you all. Unfortunately, the world has set us on a different path and we are not able to do so."

Owners Colin Ross, James MacFarlane and Roy Flemming opened up the 60 W Cordova Street eatery in 2013, which quickly became well-loved for its warm, inviting atmosphere and rustic, locally sourced farm-to-table fare, featuring menu items like pork belly crackling, burgers, elk carpaccio, chicken & waffles, Shepard's Pie and mac n' cheese.

Now, it joins the ever-growing list of restaurants in and around Vancouver that have shut their doors for good in the last few weeks.

In the post, Tuc Craft Kitchen thanked its "loyal and amazing customer base" for dropping by regularly over the years.

"You, our guests, have been our inspiration. Sharing your memories & laughs with you at our table was always what Tuc was about," it read. "You are like our extended family and we will miss all of you! There have been wonderful celebrations, birthdays, first dates, weddings, special dinners, the list goes on. Thank you for sharing all those special moments with us."

The eatery's owners also expressed their gratitude to "all of the amazing staff" who they said became "a part of our family & team."

They added, "Tuc would never have become the amazing place it was without their dedication & love. Without these great cooks, servers, bartenders and hosts our guests would never have realized our goal of serving great local food in a caring, casual environment.

"We wish you all the best and hope to see you again someday."

From day one Tuc was about serving locally sourced farm-to-table food alongside great cocktails & wine in an atmosphere that was welcoming & friendly. We accomplished that goal and built a loyal and amazing customer base that have been coming regularly for over 7 years. Now in the midst of Covid-19, we are left with the sad news that we will closing after our last service August 29th, 2020.
