It seems launching a police-themed pizzeria in downtown Vancouver has not worked out for the owners of 911Pizza.
Located at 500 Robson St. at the intersection with Richards, the restaurant opened in October 2024 with a police-themed logo, pizzas called "Sheriff" and "Chief," and many references to the emergency services phone number.
There were pizzas for $9.11, breakfasts were $9.11, the hours were 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and they offered deals on the ninth and 11th of each month.
Recently, the restaurant closed, and a legal notice has been posted at the premises. The notice explains that the tenant is in default on their lease and owes more than $115,000. It goes on to state the tenant is required to vacate the premises.
At the beginning of August, 911Pizza posted on social media that it would be temporarily closed. That was a month ago.
The location has been for sale for some time.
911Pizza replaced the short-lived sandwich-and-kebab shop Toranj, which opened up in 2023, replacing Bentoya, a Japanese restaurant that closed in March 2023.
