Blacksmith Bakery will open a third location and its second cafe and bakeshop in Langley's Latimer Village development.

One of Fort Langley's most beloved spots for coffee, treats, and eats is adding another location. Blacksmith Bakery, which launched in 2014, will be opening up in Langley's Latimer Village development, making it the third outpost for the popular bakeshop.

Blacksmith Bakery is known for its line-up of decadent pastries and baked goods, and also a cafe menu of pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and all-day brunch dishes. The from-scratch artisan bakery also serves up espresso-based coffee drinks using their own Anvil espresso roasted by Vancouver's Agro Roasters. Weekenders know the bakery releases special edition treats for those kick-back days, and you won't want to sleep on them either - think creations like a Double Baked Milk Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Jelly Viennoiserie w ith Raspberry Chantilly, which is basically the most insane PB&J croissant with extras.

Locals and visitors to Fort Langley are drawn to Blacksmith's charming flagship cafe at 9190 Church Street in the historic town core, situated in the onetime Reid Blacksmith Shop that dates back to around 1910. The bakery, which is owned by Chef Stephan Schigas and his wife Bernice Farah, takes its name from the location.

However, Blacksmith Bakery also has a satellite location at the new Langley YNJ airport terminal building, which took flight this summer.

For its second full location at Latimer Village, Blacksmith Bakery will be situated in the south-east quadrant of the community. The location will feature a courtyard-facing patio

“Our new location will offer the vibe of a pedestrian-friendly street with the exposure and convenience of being on a major road – that combo is hard to come by” said Schigas in a media release.

"We can’t wait to bring our hand forged viennoiserie, patisserie, cakes, eclairs, tarts, cookies, savories, soups, thin-crust pizzas and gourmet sandwiches to more people!”

Latimer Village is located off 200 Street north of 82 Avenue in Langley. No opening date has been announced yet for the new Blacksmith Bakery; follow them on Instagram for updates.
