Launched on West 41st Avenue in Kerrisdale back in 2005, Sweet e's was a bakery run by sisters Eleanor and Kathleen Tsang.

A Kerrisdale bakeshop business run by sisters has closed, though the owners say they have plans to re-launch in the future.

Sweet e's launched in 2005 and is the venture of the Tsang sisters. Located at 2032 W 41st Ave, Sweet e's was loved in the community and known for their custom cakes.

Eleanor Tsang served as Sweet e's pastry chef, while sister Kathleen was the general manager. A third sister, Theresa, pitched in, according to the bakery's website.

Initially, the closure was announced in a message posted to Sweet e's Instagram and Facbook pages.

At the end of May, Sweet e's revealed they would shut their doors on June 15.

"Our lease is up and the new landlord is not renewing," they explained.

A letter to customers posted after closing day allowed the sisters the chance to express their gratitude and hint at what is next for the business.

"We have truly cherished being a part of the Kerrisdale community and sincerely appreciate all of your wonderful trust and support through the years," reads the goodbye letter signed by Kathleen and Eleanor.

"As we close this chapter for Sweet e's, we are looking forward with excitement to the next iteration of our little bakery," they continue.

"It’s not going to be forever. It’s just until we find a new home," elaborated Kathleen in the intro to the notice on Facebook.

"Eleanor and I will be taking a short break, but after that we’ll be making calls and visiting potential sites for the new Sweet e’s."

Sweet e's specialized in tarts in large and individual sizes, cookies, pavlovas, seasonal goodies, and whole cakes, including custom designs.

The Tsang sisters have asked that customers continue to follow them on Instagram @sweet.e.darling for updates on a new location.
