'We are back and better than ever': Yaletown restaurant reopens after fire

The pizza and party vibes have been offline since early April

It's been a long couple of months for Vancouver's The Parlour after a fire took the Yaletown pizza spot and its party vibes offline.

On April 4, firefighters were dispatched to 1011 Hamilton St to take on a blaze that originated inside the restaurant.

In the immediate aftermath, Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) public information officer Matthew Trudeau told V.I.A. the flames were mostly contained to the ground floor, though some did extend to the roof.

The Parlour was forced to close up shop that day and embark on repairs to address the significant smoke and water damage the restaurant sustained.

This weekend, The Parlour shared on social media the doors to the popular hangout spot for drinks and casual eats are once again open.

"After months of hard work, our Vancouver location is finally open and accepting walk-ins this week!" announced operators of the 11-year-old restaurant on Instagram on Sunday, June 16.

"Thank you to our amazing staff for their patience and loyalty during the renovation process. And thank you to our community of patrons for the continuous love and support," added The Parlour.

"We are back and better than ever."
