YVR Vertical Garden

YVR Vertical Garden

I don't know if it is the airport or transit that is responsible, but this vertical garden was amazing to see at night time. The whole wall is living. It is one of the walls of the new Canada Line stop at YVR. No skunks living in it, yet.
FROM THE VANCOUVER PARK BOARD

FROM THE VANCOUVER PARK BOARD

Earlier this week I wrote an OPEN LETTER to the Vancouver Park Board asking what the deal is with these houses that are in all the parks around town. Today one of the Park Board 's commissioners, Sarah Blyth, was kind enough to offer us some insight.
Habitat 76

Habitat 76

I found this little nugget the other day, and it made me stoked. In 1976, Vancouver hosted the UN Habitat Conference on Human Settlements, all about urban settlement issues.

LITTLE HOUSES IN THE LANIES

LITTLE HOUSES IN THE LANIES

I've got a couple friends who own houses in the city that have little garages at the backs of them bordering on the laneways that they use to store motorbikes, build mini ramps in...

Time lapse Vancouver weather!

July 25th had the gnarliest weather in Vancouver I've seen in ages. It was great! This time lapse was taken the day of the big ol thunder and lightning storm, and I guess, it's little baby brother, the fireworks... (ignore the music in the video...
GOLFING AT QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK

GOLFING AT QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK

I went and played a round with our former golf editor, Kelly Litz, last night. It was no surprise to either of us that I lost, but this dent in the green that I made from the tee was pretty shocking.
