Vancouver forecast calls for a chance of rain for the next 7 straight days

While residents of the Lower Mainland braced for the possibility of snow this week, the updated Metro Vancouver weather forecast only calls for rain.

Starting on Thursday, Mar. 5, Environment Canada calls for rain and a high of 7°C with a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight. Following this, Friday's forecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 8°C during the day with a low of 3°C overnight. 

Vancouverites may see a brief respite from the rain on Saturday, with the forecast calling for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 8°C. However, the evening forecast is calling for a 40 per cent chance of rain. Sunday's forecast calls for a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day, but the evening is expected to be clear and cool, with temperatures dipping to down to freezing.

Monday is expected to be sunny and bright with a high of 9°C, but the evening forecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers. The forecast is also calling for a 60 per cent chance of showers on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

While Vancouver saw some frigid lows this winter as well as a whopping 34 cms of snowfall in only five days, the spring forecast looks decidedly milder. 

AccuWeather has released its annual spring weather forecast for Canada, and its meteorologists predict that there will be a strong end to the season for ski resorts across the Canadian Rockies.
