What a week. A 'snowpocalypse' and a royal visit on the Downtown Eastside...

Here's what you may have missed:

1. This Vancouver YouTuber complains about winter in East Van and it's awesome

While some people are enjoying the magic a little snow adds to the streets of Vancouver, this YouTuber has gone to great lengths to explain why he "hates it."

In his latest video, Steven Huynh points out the many reasons winter in Vancouver essentially sucks as he takes viewers on a tour from East Vancouver to Downtown during a snow day. It's worth a watch. 🎥❄️ (But I still ❤️ the snow.)

2. Bizarre, funny and dangerous things Vancouverites saw in the snow

While Vancouver’s latest snowstorm caused chaos for transit, it also brought out the comedians and photographers.

3. This B.C. university made the list of Canada's fastest-growing 'sugar baby' schools

A global 'sugar daddy' dating site has compiled its annual report of the Fastest Growing Sugar Baby Schools and a B.C. university made the top 20 in Canada

According to SeekingArrangement, the world's largest 'sugar dating' site, there are now over 340,000 sugar baby students across Canada. With average rent increasing in some cities to nearly $2,600 in 2019, the company argues that it makes sense that students are finding this form of relationship beneficial.

4. Meghan Markle visited a women's centre on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside

As you may have heard, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is back in B.C., and this week she made a special visit to the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. 👑 📷

The centre posted a photo to social media on Tuesday, writing that they had tea with the Duchess and discussed "issues affecting women in the community."

Although many people were excited about the royal visit, a number of others were skeptical. And a few really weren't pleased about it. Here's what some V.I.A. readers had to say.

5. You can fly across Canada for as little as $12 right now

While it might seem unbelievable, a new flight deal will allow you to travel across Canada for less than a pair of jeans in 2020.

As part of its The Loonie Sweat Sale, Swoop, WestJet's discount carrier, is offering 100,000 tickets for a loonie base fare. Of course, you won't actually be able to fly anywhere for a buck—but you will be able to take advantage of some astonishingly low fares. ✈️
