For the past couple of days the city has been under a smoky filter from the nearby forest fires and it's making it difficult to see our usual skyline. Our Daily Photo #2226 is from Sonya , who captured the haze taking over False Creek.

Remember the 80's band Platinum Blonde? I do. Their Alien Shores album was one of the first I ever owned - I got it right after I laid down some paper route cash for Duran Duran's Rio .

It's rare that we are able to look inside the struggles of celebrities in deteriorating health - mental or physical, or both. We see them at their peak and they entertain us and when disease and age strikes they disappear behind closed doors.
