The nation's culinary scene is in the spotlight, as Canada's 100 Best Restaurants revealed its list of the top places to dine on Monday, May 5.
Of the 100 restaurants ranked, 14 are in Vancouver, two are in Richmond, and three more are located elsewhere in British Columbia.
Taking the number one spot––and ousting Montreal's Mon Lapin reign after two back-to-back years––is Restaurant Pearl Morissette, the French fine dining farm-to-table destination in Jordan Station, Ontario.
The list of Vancouver restaurants represents some familiar names in upscale dining, including several included in other go-to lists and awards, like the Michelin Guide and the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards (announced the same day as Canada's 100 Best Restaurants of 2025).

New to the list is Le Crocodile by Rob Feenie, with the next-gen French fine dining spot landing at an impressive 28th. Bacchus is on the list again after dropping off in 2023. It's a return as well for Elisa; the Toptable-owned Yaletown steakhouse last appeared in 2020.
Elsewhere in Metro Vancouver, Richmond's elegant "Royal Thai" restaurant Baan Lao rejoins the list again and the far more casual Richmond seafood superstar The Fish Man appears. Further afield, B.C. is repped by Wild Blue (Whistler), Pluvio (Ucluelet), and Marilena (Victoria).
The newest restaurant, however, to join the list is Vancouver's Elem (99th), which opened at the end of 2024. Top Chef Canada alum Chef Vish Mayekar is behind a menu of contemporary dishes with global influence paired with avant garde cocktails by Winnie Sun in a sleek, modern setting.
As an exciting plus, Elem is also ranked on the 100 Best's supplemental top 10 list of the country's best new restaurants of the year.

Tracking changes: Which Vancouver restaurants left or joined the list in 2025?
A few Vancouver restaurants departed the list in 2025: La Querica, Masayoshi, Cioppino's, Mott 32, Tetsu Sushi Bar, Savio Volpe, Elephant, and Sushi Hil; of those, both Cioppino's and Elephant closed in 2024.
Generally speaking, Vancouver restaurants took a tumble down the ranks, with Published dipping down two spaces from last year's 7th position, and Kissa Tanto even more from 2024's 10th place ranking. Boulevard sank from 22nd to 55th, Maenam from 42nd to 94th, L'Abattoir from 16th to 37th, and Burdock from 62 to 82.
That said St. Lawrence rose two spots (up from 14 last year to 12 in 2025), AnnaLena shot up to 10th over last year's 20th, and Botanist went up from 37th to 32nd. Hawksworth went up one slot from 67 to 66 year over year.
Marking its 11th year, Canada's 100 Best Restaurant celebrates the country’s best places to dine as decided by over 100 judges chosen for their reputation and knowledge of the culinary scene.
Officials say the judges do not receive any direction on where to go and what to eat and no free meals are accepted.
