What better way to make the summer a little sweeter than with ice cream?
That's the premise of the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival, a self-guided celebration of the summer's coolest treat.
Now in its third year, organizers have brought over 30 restaurants, cafés, and sweet shops on board who will each be offering signature items or special fest creations from June 20 to August 4.
"Last year we had an amazing turnout and we’re so excited to see more people come out, enjoy the special creations and support the local food businesses," said organizer Jason Yeh of Noms Magazine in a media release.
All of the sales of the event treats stay with the business, making the Metro Vancouver Ice Cream Festival a great way to support local this summer.
There is no admission fee and anyone can visit the participating shops during their regular business hours to taste these new flavours created for the festival. Be aware that some vendors might have multiple locations and only specific ones participate in the festival. Prices will vary by location.
For 2025, there are nearly a dozen new vendors taking part, and (so far) there are 35 businesses signed up.
In Vancouver, you'll find Ice Cream Festival treats at Killer Ice Cream, Tutto Belle, and Le Parfait, while in Richmond you'll find sweet stuff swirling at Little Pisces, Daan Go, and Matcha Cafe Maiko. For those in Burnaby, look for special menu items at spots like Glenburn Soda Fountain and newcomer EGGBOMB+, among others.
