A corner in Kitsilano will soon have a new shop for pleasant drinks.
Signs for Cloud & Shine Cafe are up at 2298 W Broadway at the corner of Yew Street. The retail space had been a part of the IGA grocery store, which remains neighbouring the new cafe.
The signs indicate Cloud & Shine will sell a variety of drinks, including roasted milk tea and fruit teas. Along with the teas, there will also be coffee-based drinks.
The new cafe will be offering its assortment of beverages along with baked goods, including sandwiches and desserts.
An opening date of "spring 2024" is advertised; Cloud & Shine is also hiring right now.
The forthcoming Cloud & Shine joins several other indie treat and drink spots launching in the area. Tutto Belle il Gelato recently opened up on West 4th, and The Pie Hole is currently relocating a few blocks west on Broadway. About two kilometres to the west will soon also be a new spot for fresh fruit ice cream called Killer Ice Cream.
