Vancouver neighbourhood gets big new playground

The new features include a trampoline, play tower, and water features.

A Vancouver neighbourhood is getting a new playground.

The playground behind the Champlain Heights Community Centre is one of the three in the neighbourhood that are being upgraded. Two other, smaller playgrounds are located within the walking paths between Champlain Crescent and Matheson Crescent.

In March, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation revealed plans for big upgrades to a park in another neighbourhood.

Designed using feedback from local residents, the playground behind the Champlain Heights Community Centre now features a play tower, hill slide, in-ground trampoline, net spinner, a water play feature, and plenty of trees for shade.

The new play area will open to children and park-goers today, May 27.
