To the editor: Re: "Greening of Beach Towers part of new normal," March 1 . Columnist Allen Garr notes many green building features in his article are the new normal, but ends his piece by suggesting they cost more and so raise rents.

To the editor: Re: "When laneways were so much more," March 1. Terri Clark's column struck such a chord in me. I, too, cried when the charming house beside us was demolished along with a delightful garden, many beautiful mature trees and huge rhodos.

Todays kids have no shortage of material for distraction or instruction. For boomers and Gen-Xers who grew up in a five-channel universe, the infotainment options were few.

The days of good alternatives are gone for Premier Christy Clark's government. All that's left now is to figure out the least worst alternative.
